Audit your website's cookies and trackers
How do I find out which cookies and trackers my website uses?
Open your site in a real browser with scripts running, on many pages, and record every cookie, storage key, pixel and third-party request, once before accepting your cookie banner and once after. Privara does this automatically, names the vendor behind each item from a catalog of about 600 domains, and flags the rest for you.
Why a list from your developer isn't enough
Apps, themes and tag managers load other scripts, which load more. The only reliable list is what a browser actually sees when it visits your pages, and it changes whenever someone installs an app or edits a tag.
What Privara records
- Every third-party host your pages contact, and which pages.
- Every cookie: name, domain, expiry, first or third party, and its flags.
- localStorage and sessionStorage keys.
- Tracking pixels (beacons and tiny images).
- Whether each was seen before anyone accepted your banner, or only after.
From findings to an inventory
- Accept the catalog's vendor and category, or reclassify with your own purpose.
- Unknown items are flagged; classify them once and Privara can remember the mapping.
- Sign off the inventory when nothing is left to review.
- Rescans (monthly on Starter, weekly on Business and Pro) mark what's new, gone or changed.
Your cookie table
Export the cookies in your latest scan as a table (CSV, Markdown or HTML) with provider, category, purpose, duration and party, ready to paste into your cookie policy after review.
Limits worth knowing
A scan sees what a first-time visitor sees on the pages it reaches (up to 100 pages on Starter, 2,000 on Pro). Logged-in areas and region-specific content can differ. Privara is not legal advice. It reports what a browser saw and helps you organize the work; you and your advisers decide what applies and whether you comply.
